Walking is one of the easiest ways to experience the marsh.
The state wildlife area offers more than five miles of designated hiking trails, taking visitors through wetland, prairie and woodland habitats. There is also a wetland boardwalk that provides another perspective on this remarkable ecosystem.

Horicon National Wildlife Refuge
The northern portion of Horicon Marsh includes the Horicon National Wildlife Refuge, managed by the U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service.
The refuge provides additional opportunities for wildlife observation, photography and seasonal recreation.
Because some roads and areas close during migration periods to protect wildlife, checking current refuge information before your visit is important.
More Things to Do Around Horicon
Your getaway doesn’t have to end at the edge of the marsh.
